The Skills Immigration category of the BC PNP is for skilled workers, professionals or managers who have a full-time, permanent job offer from a British Columbia employer.

Skills Immigration – Skilled Worker

To apply to the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) under the Skills Immigration – Skilled Worker category, the applicant must:

  • Have an offer of full-time indeterminate employment from an eligible employer at a wage that will allow you to establish economically in B.C.
  • Have minimum two years work experience in an eligible occupation ( in skill level 0, A or B), and, if applicable, the credentials and qualification requirements of the position.
  • Meet minimum language requirements. (Minimum CLB 4 for Skill Level B occupations. For Skill level 0 or A, language test results are not mandatory)
  • Have minimum necessary income.

Skills Immigration – Health Care Professional

To apply to the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) under the Skills Immigration – Health Care Professional, the applicant must:

  • Have an offer of indeterminate, full-time employment with a public health authority as a physician, nurse, psychiatric nurse, nurse practitioner, allied health professional or midwife.
  • Have minimum two years work experience in the offered occupation and, if applicable, the credentials and qualification requirements of the position.
  • Meet minimum language requirements. (Minimum CLB 4 for Skill Level B occupations. For Skill level 0 or A, language test results are not mandatory)
  • Have minimum necessary income.

Skills Immigration – International Graduate

To apply to the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) under the Skills Immigration – International Graduate, the applicant must:

  • Have a degree, diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada. Application must be submitted within two years of the issuance.
  • Have a job offer for an indeterminate full-time position in Skill Level 0, A or B that typically requires a university or college education.
  • Meet minimum language requirements. (Minimum CLB 4 for Skill Level B occupations. For Skill level 0 or A, language test results are not mandatory)
  • Have minimum necessary income.

Skills Immigration – International Post-graduate

To apply to the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) under the Skills Immigration – International Post-graduate, the applicant must:

  • Have a master’s or doctoral degree received within the past two years from an eligible program at a post-secondary institution in B.C.

Skills Immigration – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker

To apply to the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) under the Skills Immigration – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker, the applicant must:

  • Have nine months of full-time employment with the supporting employer immediately prior to the date of registration (in tourism and hospitality, long-haul trucking or food processing)
  • Have an offer of indeterminate, full-time employment from an eligible B.C. employer at a wage that meets industry standards
  • Have completed secondary education and any licensing or certification required for your job
  • Meet minimum language requirements. (Minimum CLB 4)
  • Have minimum necessary income.

Skills Immigration – Northeast Pilot Project

In April 2012, the B.C. government launched a two-year pilot project to expand the types of workers eligible for the BC PNP in the Northeast development region only. The Northeast Pilot Project has been extended to March 31, 2016.

  • Currently working in the Northeast Development Region in any occupation listed as Skill Level C or D in an occupation not included in the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker category.
  • Have nine months of full-time employment with the supporting employer immediately prior to the date of registration
  • Have completed secondary education and any licensing or certification required for your job
  • Meet minimum language requirements. (Minimum CLB 4)
  • Have minimum necessary income.

The Process

  • Step 1:

    Submission of a complete application to BC PNP.

  • Step 2:

    Following a thorough assessment, the BC PNP nominates the successful candidate.

  • Step 3:

    Making a separate application to the Government of Canada for permanent resident visas.

  • Step 4:

    Medical and security examinations and issuance of permanent resident visas.

Fees

BC Application Fee: C$ 550

Federal Processing Fee: C$ 550 for each person 19 years and over, C$ 550 for each child

Right of Permanent Residence Fee: C$ 490 for main applicant, C$ 490 for spouse
