Saskatchewan Skilled Worker

The International Skilled Worker category is for skilled workers who want to work and live in Saskatchewan. This category enables the SINP to nominate individuals who have the education, skilled work experience, language ability and other factors to help them to successfully establish and integrate into Saskatchewan’s labour market and communities.

Eligibility Criteria

Streams under this category include the following. Applicants must meet the requirements listed for each of the three sub-categories to be eligible to apply under this program as a skilled worker:

International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer Sub-Category

  • Have an offer of permanent, full-time employment in Saskatchewan either in an occupation in the NOC level A, B or 0 occupation, or in a designated trade in Saskatchewan.
  • Score a minimum of 60 points out of 100 on the point assessment grid.
  • Have a minimum of one-year work experience in the past ten years in the intended occupation.
  • Have a minimum language score of CLB 4 is the minimum.
  • For regulated profession or compulsory apprenticeship trade, obtain proof of eligibility for Saskatchewan licensure.

International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand Sub-Category

  • Score a minimum of 60 points out of 100 on the point assessment grid.
  • Have a minimum language score of CLB 4 is the minimum.
  • Have completed post-secondary education, training or apprenticeship of at least one year in length.
  • Have at least one year of work experience in the past 10 years related to your field of education or training and in a high skilled occupation in NOC level A, B or 0 occupation that is considered to be in-demand in Saskatchewan.
  • For regulated profession or compulsory apprenticeship trade, obtain proof of eligibility for Saskatchewan licensure.
  • Have proof of settlement funds and a settlement plan.

International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry Sub-Category

  • Be accepted into CIC’s Express Entry pool and have an Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Validation Code.
  • Score a minimum of 60 points out of 100 on the SINP point assessment grid.
  • Provide valid language test results from a designated testing agency that match the language level you declared in your Express Entry profile.
  • Have a minimum of one year of post-secondary education or training, or a certificate equivalent to a trade certificate.
  • Have a minimum level of work experience related to field of education or training.

The Process

  • Step 1:

    For Express Entry sub-category, making an online Express Entry profile at CIC web site and receiving Express Entry Profile Number and Job Bank Validation Code.

  • Step 2:

    For Express Entry sub-category, the highest-scoring qualified candidates are invited to submit an SINP application.

  • Step 3:

    Online submission of a complete application to SINP.

  • Step 4:

    The SINP nominates successful candidates.

  • Step 5:

    Making a separate application to the Government of Canada for permanent resident visas.

  • Step 6:

    Medical and security examinations and issuance of permanent resident visas.

Fees

SINP Application Fee: No Fee

Federal Processing Fee: C$ 550 for each person 19 years and over, C$ 550 for each child

Right of Permanent Residence Fee: C$ 490 for main applicant, C$ 490 for spouse
