Alberta Employer Driven Stream

To qualify under the Employer Driven Stream of Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), the applicants must have a valid job offer from an employer in Alberta.

Eligibility Criteria

Skilled Worker Category

For Candidates who have a permanent, full-time job offer from their Alberta Employer in a skilled occupation (NOC  0, A, B).

To be eligible in this category, the applicant must:

  • Have a permanent, full-time job offer from an Alberta employer in a skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, B).
  • Have the formal education and/or specialized training as well as any required licensing required for the position.
  • Have a valid work permit is already working in Alberta.

Alberta Employer Driven Stream

International Graduate Category

For Candidates who have recently graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution and have a permanent, full-time job offer from their Alberta Employer in a NOC skill-level 0, A, B or C occupation.

To be eligible in this category, the applicant must:

  • Be working full-time in Alberta, for the Alberta employer who is supporting your AINP application.
  • Have a permanent, full-time job offer from an Alberta employer in the same skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, B, C).
  • Have obtained a certificate, diploma, degree, or have completed a graduate level program of at least one year from an approved educational institution.
  • The occupation in the job offer from your Alberta employer and the occupation you are performing for that employer must be the same occupation.
  • Have a current and valid Post-Graduation Work Permit.
  • Meet the language requirements for the occupation.

Semi-Skilled Worker Category

For Candidates who have a permanent, full-time job offer from an Alberta Employer in a semi-skilled occupation (NOC C or D) that is eligible under the AINP. Only certain occupations are eligible.

To be eligible in this category, the applicant must:

  • Be currently working in Alberta on a work permit for an eligible AINP Semi-Skilled Occupation.
  • Have a permanent, full-time job offer from an Alberta employer in an un-skilled occupation (NOC C, D).
  • For the occupations in foodservices industries, have completed high school, and meet additional criteria required by the industry.
  • Meet the language requirements for the occupation.

The Process

  • Step 1:

    Submission of a complete application to AINP.

  • Step 2:

    Following a thorough assessment, the AINP nominates successful candidates.

  • Step 3:

    Making a separate application to the Government of Canada for permanent resident visas.

  • Step 4:

    Medical and security examinations and issuance of permanent resident visas.

Fees

AINP Application Fee: No fee

Federal Processing Fee: C$ 550 for each person 19 years and over, C$ 550 for each child

Right of Permanent Residence Fee: C$ 490 for main applicant, C$ 490 for spouse
