Greater Sudbury is centrally located in Northeastern Ontario and is home to approximately 165,000 people. It is a multicultural and truly bilingual community. Sudbury is home to the third largest French population outside of Quebec and approximately 38 per cent of people identify as knowing both official languages.

Sudbury is one of 11 cities selected by the Canadian federal government for Sudbury Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Project to attract skilled workers and skilled trades in response to economic and market of Sadbury. The Sudbury community ranks candidates who want to immigrate to Sudbury through the Sudbury's RNIP points-based system to select the highest-ranking candidates from the pool and invite them to apply for a community recommendation. .
