British Columbia’s Express Entry stream allows BC PNP to use CIC’s Express Entry system to meet B.C. specific labour market needs.

Eligibility Criteria

Express Entry British Columbia – Skilled Worker

To apply to the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) under the Express Entry British Columbia – Skilled Worker category, the applicant must:

  • Have entered CIC Express Entry pool of applicants and a CIC Express Entry Profile Number and a Job Seeker Validation Code.
  • Have related work experience in an eligible occupation ( in skill level 0, A or B), and, if applicable, the credentials and qualification requirements of the position.
  • Have an offer of full-time indeterminate employment from an eligible employer at a wage that will allow you to establish economically in B.C.
  • Have minimum necessary income.

Express Entry British Columbia – Health Care Professional

To apply to the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) under the Express Entry British Columbia – Health Care Professional, the applicant must:

  • Have entered CIC Express Entry pool of applicants and a CIC Express Entry Profile Number and a Job Seeker Validation Code.
  • Be sponsored by or have a full-time job offer from a public health authority as a physician, nurse, psychiatric nurse or allied health professional.
  • Have an offer of full-time indeterminate employment from an eligible employer.

Express Entry British Columbia – International Graduate

  • Have entered CIC Express Entry pool of applicants and a CIC Express Entry Profile Number and a Job Seeker Validation Code.
  • Have a degree, diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada. Application must be submitted within two years of the issuance.
  • Have a job offer for an indeterminate full-time position in Skill Level 0, A or B that typically requires a university or college education.
  • Have minimum necessary income.

Express Entry British Columbia – International Post-graduate

  • Have entered CIC Express Entry pool of applicants and a CIC Express Entry Profile Number and a Job Seeker Validation Code.
  • Have a master’s or doctoral degree received within the past two years from an eligible program at a post-secondary institution in B.C.

The Process

  • Step 1:

    Making an online Express Entry profile at CIC web site and receiving Express Entry Profile Number and Job Bank Validation Code.

  • Step 2:

    Submission of a complete application to BC PNP.

  • Step 3:

    Following a thorough assessment, the BC PNP nominates the successful candidate, the Express Entry profile is updated and the applicant receives and Invitation to Apply (ITA) from CIC.

  • Step 4:

    Making a separate application to the Government of Canada for permanent resident visas.

  • Step 5:

    Medical and security examinations and issuance of permanent resident visas.

Fees

BC Application Fee: C$ 550

Federal Processing Fee: C$ 550 for each person 19 years and over, C$ 550 for each child

Right of Permanent Residence Fee: C$ 490 for main applicant, C$ 490 for spouse
