Ease eligibility requirements for Work experience
Recently, Canada’s minister of immigration, Marco Mendicino, announced new decisions to ease teligibility requirements for Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. One of the important requirement in RNIP is having qualifying work experience. Prior to this decision, applicants must have at least 1 year of continuous work experience (at least 1,560 hours) in the past 3 years.
However, according to the new decision, the condition of continuity of having work experience has been removed, and now, for all applicants who have applied or are applying for this program, no longer need to have accumulated work experience over a continuous period of time. Applicants need 1 year of work experience (at least 1,560 hours) in the past 3 years.
According to second announcement of Marco Mendicino , is also allowing RNIP applicants who are waiting for a decision on their permanent residence application to apply for a work permit without being penalized due to processing delays. This temporary measure applies to people who are going through the process during the COVID-19 pandemic.
