Newfoundland and Labrador International Graduate

The International Graduate category of the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Propgram (NLPNP) is for recent graduates who have a Post-Graduate Work Permit and a job or job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply to the NLPNP International Graduate category, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a post-secondary degree or diploma or at least 2 academic years (while studying full-time) from an eligible publicly funded Canadian college or university. One-year post-graduate degree programs and certificate programs which require a previous degree or diploma (which may have been obtained abroad), are also eligible. At least half of studies must have been completed in Canada and the degree or diploma must have been received within 2 years of the date of application.
  • Have a full-time job offer in the field of study, or a related field of study, from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer, at least 1 year experience in the field of study in Canada, if Canadian studies have been completed outside of Newfoundland and labrador, and a valid post-graduation work permit.Applicant must have all the qualifications required for the position, including training (and any license or certification required in Newfoundland and Labrador), work experience and language ability.
  • Can demonstrate sufficient English or French language capability to perform the employment duties.

In addition to meeting the above criteria, successful applicants must show that they have sufficient settlement funds and financial resources to successfully establish themselves and any dependents in Newfoundland and Labrador for at least 3 months.

The Process

  • Step 1:

    Submission of a complete application to NLPNP.

  • Step 2:

    The NLPNP nominates successful candidates.

  • Step 3:

    Making a separate application to the Government of Canada for permanent resident visas.

  • Step 4:

    Medical and security examinations and issuance of permanent resident visas.

Fees

NLPNP Application Fee: No Fee

Federal Processing Fee: C$ 550 for each person 19 years and over, C$ 550 for each child

Right of Permanent Residence Fee: C$ 490 for main applicant, C$ 490 for spouse
