New Brunswick Express Entry

This new stream of New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program allows the NBPNP to use CIC’s Express Entry system to meet New Brunswick’s specific labour market and demographic needs.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply to the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) under the Express Entry Labour Market Stream (EELMS), the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least one year continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time, in the same paid job at one of the occupations in which are in demand in New Brunswick.
  • Be between 22 and 55 years old.
  • Meet the minimum language level of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 proven by an approved language test (
    IELTS General or CEL PIP for English, TEF for French)
  • Have a Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree, OR a completed foreign credential along with a Canadian equivalency assessment report by an aproved agency.
  • Receive a minimum of 67 points under New Brunswick point grid.

In addition to meeting the above criteria, successful applicants must show that they have sufficient settlement funds to support themselves and their dependants after arrival in Canada.

The Process

The applicants may either apply directly to NBPNP or have been selected from the Express Entry pool by the NBPNP.

  • Step 1:

    Completion of the Expression of Interest (EOI) form. The NBPNP will receive EOI forms from the 1st to the 15th of each month. The NBPNP staff will score and rank the forms and invite the most suitable candidates to apply to the EELMS from the first of the following submission month.

  • Step 2:

    Submission of a complete application to NBPNP.

  • Step 3:

    If the NBPNP would like to nominate the applicant, an online CIC Express Entry profile must be created with 10 days of notification (If it has not been created). The applicant should send the Express Entry Profile number and Job Validation Code to NBPNP.

  • Step 4:

    The NBPNP nominates the successful candidate, the Express Entry profile is updated and the applicant receives and Invitation to Apply (ITA) from CIC.

  • Step 5:

    Making a separate application to the Government of Canada for permanent resident visas.

  • Step 6:

    Medical and security examinations and issuance of permanent resident visas.

Fees

NBPNP Application Fee: C$ 250

Federal Processing Fee: C$ 550 for each person 19 years and over, C$ 550 for each child

Right of Permanent Residence Fee: C$ 490 for main applicant, C$ 490 for spouse
